First, protect the save you might still have
Stop before clearing cookies, deleting site data or reinstalling the browser. If another tab or device still shows your progress, leave it open. Look for the game's own export or backup feature and keep that file outside the browser before trying a reset.
A missing Continue button does not prove that the save was deleted. Write down the last working address, approximate progress and when you last played. Recovery depends on the game's storage design; a directory cannot reconstruct a save from your browsing history.
Return to the same browser, profile and address
Open your original bookmark in the browser profile you used before. Compare the hostname and whether you entered through a game portal or the creator's own website. Browser storage belongs to an origin; a different host or protocol can have a separate store even when the title and artwork match.
An embedded version may also have different storage access from a direct version. Test the original entry point before assuming that a newer link has migrated your progress. Do not paste an unfamiliar save-converter script into the developer console.
Separate local saving from account saving
If the game documents cloud saves, confirm that you signed into the same game account and selected the right profile or slot. Signing into PixelGamesHub or a browser-sync account does not by itself sign you into a creator's game or copy that game's local storage.
Private browsing commonly removes stored data when the private session ends, and browser-managed storage can be evicted. An offline-ready message describes cached resources, not necessarily a backed-up campaign. If the original local data is gone and no server copy or exported backup exists, recovery may not be possible.
Test with a disposable slot, not your main progress
After protecting what remains, make a small test save in an unused slot if the game supports one. Return to the menu, wait for its save confirmation, close the tab normally and reopen the same address. Record whether that test survives. Do not overwrite your only slot just to test a theory.
If the test fails, note any storage-permission message and available device space. Try another supported browser only as a comparison with a fresh test; its empty save list is expected and does not establish that your original save is lost. Change one condition at a time.
Ask the creator a recovery question they can answer
Send the creator the exact entry URL, game version if visible, browser and device, normal or private mode, and whether you cleared site data or changed accounts. Ask whether the build uses local saves, server saves or export files, and whether a supported migration exists.
Keep account tokens and save files containing personal details out of public comments. For your next longer session, prefer a game with an explicit saving explanation and an export option when available. Our game-selection guide helps you check these practical requirements before committing time.
