About 2048 Classic
The original 2048 by Gabriele Cirulli — a four-by-four sliding tile puzzle where matching twos compound into fours, eights, sixteens, all the way up. MIT-licensed; we are setting up the self-hosted fork before flipping this page playable.

How to Play
Start smart, score cleaner
Goal
Combine matching numbered tiles by sliding them across the board until you reach 2048.
Steps
- 1Use arrow keys (or swipe on mobile) to slide all tiles in one direction.
- 2Tiles with the same number merge into one tile of double value when they collide.
- 3After every move, a new 2 or 4 spawns somewhere on the board.
Quick Tips
Pick a corner. Anchor your highest tile in one corner and never move it.
Avoid the up direction. Most consistent wins come from chaining left-right-down only.
